Limited resources, including access to quality healthcare, are some of the challenges facing many during the economic downturn. To provide these vital services to the community and our neighbors, through health screenings, services and education, Reach Out announces the date for The 8th Annual West End Community Health & Wellness Fair.

Join Reach Out, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church October 13, 2013 for the 8th Annual West End Community Health & Wellness Fair, Sunday, October 13, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church located at 710 S. Sultana Ave., Ontario. This is a free event.

Open to all community members, the Health & Wellness Fair offers food and services for FREE: flu shots, fingerprinting for children, haircuts for children, immunizations for children, health screenings for the whole family, as well as assistance in finding a low-cost health insurance.

Screenings and exams will be provided for asthma, diabetes, blood pressure, body mass index, flu vaccine, hearing, vision, and dental screenings. Health and wellness information will be available from over 70 providers as well as expert advice on housing, education, jobs and nutrition education. A Health Careers Education Village will offer information about health professions for youth and families.

With collaboration of nearly 100 community partners, the West End Community Health & Wellness Fair was able to serve over 2,500 community members at last year’s health fair and provide over 1,200 health screenings, immunizations and over 70 provider and educational booths. The health fair corresponds with the Dia de la Raza celebration at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.

The event is partnered and sponsored by Molina Healthcare, Kids Come First Community Clinic, Western University of Health Science, Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, San Antonio Community Hospital, Kaiser Permanente, Healthy Communities, IEHP, Nestle, and Sportclips.
