West End Gangs and Drugs Task Force General Session Meeting!

Hello WEGDTF Members, Community Partners, & West End Residents:
Please join the WEGDTF at its upcoming General Meeting (Quarterly Meeting) on March 31st. At this upcoming meeting, we are proud to be presenting the WEGDTF Strategic Plan and we are excited to have County Board Supervisor Janice Rutherford speak on supporting the Task Force’s Strategic Plan. We are also excited to learn how the WEGDTF can support the ” A Call to Action:  Fighting the Dropout Rate” initiative.

 This is a significant meeting as the Strategic Plan will reveal the WEGDTF’s policy agenda for addressing substance abuse and gangs/violence for the next 3-5 years. The efforts that the plan will call for will impact all of the West End cities. The Strategic Plan will be centered around a comprehensive approach to addressing the issues of gangs, violence, and drugs while promoting support and collaboration throughout the West End.       

 Here’s what you can expect at the meeting:

• The WEGDTF will unveil its Strategic Plan   
• County Board Supervisor Janice Rutherford will speak about the County Board of Supervisor’s plans to
  support the WEGDTF Strategic Plan.  
• The San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Gary Thomas, and Jose Espinoza will talk about the
  dropout rates in the county and how the County Superintendent’s office is addressing dropout rates with the “Call to Action:  Fighting the Dropout Rate” initiative.”
