Inland Empire Parenting Classes, Health Professions and School-based Counseling Programs
At Reach Out, our aim is to create opportunities for community members of all ages, from newborns to parents. We offer a number of programs that speak directly to the needs of our youth, our schools and our families in the Inland Empire area, including:
Parenting Classes
We offer parenting classes to new parents, pregnant teens and fathers. These classes give mothers and fathers the practical parenting skills they need to ensure that their child is healthy on an emotional, physical and developmental level. Many of the individuals we work with are faced with the challenge of juggling the responsibilities of a parent and a student, and we help them provide for their child while preserving their own career opportunities for the future. We also work with fathers to ensure that they remain a part of their child’s life and are empowered in their role as a father.
Health Professions
Our Exploring Health Careers program exposes young, eager minds to exciting, promising careers in the medical field. Through hands on experience, presentations, after school programs and summer programs, students learn about the many opportunities afforded by the healthcare community in Inland Empire. Not only does this give our youth a leg up in finding a fulfilling career, it also helps address the need for more diversity among healthcare professionals and physicians in our region.
School-based Counseling
Our group school-based counseling programs use a research-based curriculum to help students overcome adversity and succeed in school. We take time to address many of the problems that begin at home, but affect performance and behavior at school. We teach students healthy coping methods for grief and loss, divorce, drug and alcohol abuse and anger management. In this way, we can help students come to terms with emotional and social difficulties and achieve the highest level of academic success possible.
These are just a few of the programs that we offer through Reach Out. For more information about our full range of programs and how you can get involved, visit the rest of our website.
