Inland Health Professions Consortium (IHPC)
The Inland Health Professions Consortium is a division of Reach Out working with industry partners, educators, and community stakeholders to address the need for a highly skilled and culturally competent health workforce in the Inland Empire region.
The Need
The Inland Empire faces California's most severe doctor shortage, leading to the creation of UC Riverside's School of Medicine. Nationwide, there are 90 primary care physicians per 100,000 residents, but the Inland Empire has just 34.5 per 100,000, nearly two-thirds less, according to the California Health Care Foundation.
Our Approach
The Inland Health Professions Consortium utilizes an innovative and diverse approach that incorporates work-based learning programs starting in junior high and continuing through college. To date, IHPC programs have impacted over 20,000 students by providing them with quality experiential learning and cultivating a local network of support.

Helping Families Find the Right Support
This initiative supports families in understanding developmental delays and navigating services through Inland Regional Center. Through peer parent guidance, families can learn how to identify potential concerns, access assessments, and connect to available support systems in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.
