FOCUS AREA
Health Workforce
Inland Southern California faces one of the largest health workforce shortages in the country. We’re tackling this gap head on, by bridging the gap between education and health professions. Through education, training, pathway programs, and strategic partnerships, we’re preparing the next generation of culturally responsive health workers to meet ever-evolving needs of Southern California’s fastest growing region.

Featured Initiative
Built on nearly a decade of field-tested training and deep regional experience, Pacific Empire College was founded to meet California’s critical shortage of community health workers. As an accredited institution under Reach Out, PEC offers culturally responsive, HCAI-compliant training programs that prepare graduates to serve as trusted liaisons between healthcare systems and communities. With virtual, hybrid, and onsite courses offered at campuses in Upland and Jurupa Valley, PEC trains both individuals entering the workforce and organizations seeking to expand their care teams with CHWs.
