In partnership with the Louis Robidoux Library, the Gardens & Markets action team created the Adventure Garden. Located behind the Robidoux Library, this new community green space provides the Jurupa Valley community a place to incorporate more physical activity into their day-to-day life. The garden offers a variety of activity and learning options for the whole family, including:

  • Physical activity stencils along the walkway.
  • Early learning prompts along the walkway.
  • “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” story painted along the walkway.
  • Garden beds with a variety of plants and herbs.

The action team hosts a clean-up of the Adventure Garden every two months to keep the space as accessible as possible to the community.

Story Walk Events
Healthy Jurupa Valley hosts annual StoryWalk® event at the Adventure Garden to support local authors and promote literacy, reading, and exercise. StoryWalk® is an innovative and delightful way for children — and adults! — to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Laminated pages from a children’s book are attached to wooden stakes, which are installed along an outdoor path. As you stroll down the trail, you’re directed to the next page in the story. Our StoryWalk® events provide a space for families to come together, enjoy reading activities, and meet local authors.
